WORLD PREMIERE
When murders pile up onboard a cruise ship, only one woman can find the culprit…
The iconic Miss Phryne Fisher sashays onto the stage for the first time in this glittering world premiere production written by Deb Cox, co-creator of the original hit series with Fiona Eagger.
It's 1929, and the latest iteration of Kerry Greenwood's stylish lady detective is aboard a South Seas cruise to catch a jewel thief. But when theft turns to murder, Miss Fisher couldn't be more thrilled. A body! A mystery! A cocktail … or two!
Less impressed is Detective Inspector Jack Robinson, coincidentally also at sea, who finds himself reluctantly dragged into the investigation and, worse, dancing.
Dodging danger at every turn, Miss Fisher is joined by the ever-faithful Dot, an enigmatic academic, a washed-up opera diva, a honeymooning magician and the gin-soaked heir to a newspaper fortune … but not everyone on the manifest will make it back to dry land alive.
This ten-strong colourful cast of shady passengers brings glamour, cheek and razor-sharp wit to a high-seas mystery. But does the answer lie above or below decks – or does the murderer just have no class at all?
Co-produced with Sydney Theatre Company and Jones Theatrical Group with Every Cloud Productions, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries: Death by Deckchair brings your favourite lady detective roaring to sumptuous life – silk pyjamas, pearl-handled pistol and all.
