Place, Connection and Construction

Get ready for an exciting adventure with TribalLink at the World Science Festival Brisbane!

This hands-on program will immerse students in the fascinating world of First Nations maps, uncovering the stories behind significant places and their cultural importance. Learn about the history of Grinding Groves in Landsborough and discover how stone axes were used in daily life.

The fun continues with a hands-on activity where students can choose to create a 30cm canoe, basket, or bird’s nest basket, using traditional materials like Pickabeen palm. It’s a unique experience that blends history, culture, and creativity!

Place, Connection and Construction is part of World Science Festival Brisbane. Find out more here.
