Carnival of the Animals

Birds flock, a swan glides elegantly, a mob of kangaroos hops by. And in the distance, a dinosaur comes to life for the first time in 100 million years.

Robert Davidson draws on groundbreaking research for his Carnival of the Extinct Animals, including the work of Anthony Romilio, named Australia’s top palaeontologist by The Australian’s Research Magazine. Camille Saint-Saëns’ beloved Carnival of the Animals receives an Australian update in Michael Leunig’s thoughtful and heartfelt adaptation. The ensemble is joined by the Grinberg-Viney piano duo, a “barnstorming” (The Australian) and “unforgettable” (Los Angeles Times) ensemble.
