Queensland Museum Kurilpa, Brisbane

4 Dec 2026 - 11 Apr 2027

Discover a world beneath the waves in OceanXperience, where marine science missions are brought to life in an immersive space celebrating the OceanXplorer research vessel, as seen in National Geographic's OceanXplorers series.

OceanXperience puts you in the captain's seat of exciting marine missions to discover the biology, migrations and habitats of keystone ocean species.

Using interactive technology, OceanXperience is a unique, hands-on museum experience where active participation connects you directly to the discoveries shaping our knowledge of marine ecosystems and inspires the next generation of ocean advocates.

Explore the ship's most vital spaces - Mission Control, the Bridge, Wet and Dry Labs, and the Sub Hangar - where groundbreaking research happens in real time. Through hands-on tasks and real expedition footage, you'll experience how robotics, submersibles and advanced mapping systems onboard the OceanXplorer are revolutionising our understanding of Earth's largest ecosystem.
