Keys to Life with Jayson Gillham and Iyad Sughayer

Two world-class pianists. One extraordinary evening.

Jayson Gillham returns to Australian stages with a project close to his heart, joined by Iyad Sughayer making his Australian debut.

There is something special about two friends sharing a stage. Festive, celebratory and alive with the sheer pleasure of playing together, this is music making at its very best. Together they bring 176 black and white keys to brilliant, colourful life in a program that is both joyful and moving.

Each piece reaches into our shared humanity and finds something that connects us all. The recital moves through Mozart’s wit and warmth, the effervescent textures of Ravel and Debussy, the vibrant energy of Khachaturian and Chabrier and the world premiere of a new work by Palestinian-Lebanese composer Houtaf Khoury.

Whether you are a lifelong classical music lover or coming to the Concert Hall for the first time, this program has something for everyone. Come and be part of an evening that celebrates the beauty of what music and friendship can create.

The ideal romantic.

- Limelight

There is not a single bar that doesn’t sound lovely.

- Gramophone

Exhilarating and delivered with perfect clarity.

- Gramophone

Jayson Gillham is an Australian-British pianist, Limelight’s 2024 Artist of the Year and described by Gramophone as a “story-teller”. A pianist who connects as much as he captivates, he brings both virtuosity and humanity to everything he plays. His friendship with Iyad Sughayer is at the heart of this project, two artists who share a vision of what music can do.

Iyad Sughayer is a Palestinian-Jordanian pianist based in the UK, Classic FM’s 2022 Rising Star, YCAT Artist and BIS recording artist.
