QSO Shakespeare’s The Tempest

It’s one thing to hear music inspired by Shakespeare. It’s another thing to hear it performed alongside narration from a living theatre legend. Helpmann Award-winner John Bell has directed, acted, and written about Shakespeare more times than you can count. In this concert, he’ll catapult you into the blustery tale of The Tempest, the story of an Italian duke who is banished to an island where all manner of trouble ensues.

This expertly curated program boasts some of the most exciting pieces of music from Sibelius’ suites of the same name. We’ve also included Purcell’s Overture for good measure. If you’re a fan of storytelling, you won’t miss this riveting performance of music and words told by one of the biggest names in Australian theatre.
