QSO Clerici & Schaupp

It’s not every day you get to witness a world premiere, and the anticipation for Gerard Brophy’s Guitar Concerto is palpable. Performed by inimitable Brisbane guitarist Karin Schaupp, this collaboration between two incredible living artists is not to be missed.

Anahita Abbasi’s why the trees were murmuring transforms the theatre into a forest of sound, as the orchestra scatter across the space to weave birdsong, poetry and gentle improvisations into an ode to the wonder of nature and the tight-knit beauty of community. And among this foliage of contemporary musical innovations, the perfect complement: Mozart’s elegant and eternal Symphony No. 40.
