String Sensations: John Curro National Youth Concerto Competition Finals Concert

Experience the excitement as three of Australia’s finest young musicians tackle the most popular string concertos in the repertoire.

Now in its 49th year, the John Curro National Youth Concerto Competition (JCNYCC) recognises and rewards outstanding young string players. Three finalists are selected from a nationwide audition to perform their concerto with the Queensland Youth Symphony.

The JCNYCC lists many musicians of national and international renown among past winners including Jane Peters (1978), Richard Tognetti (1980), Nicholas Milton (1985), Li Wei Qin (1993), Emily Sun (2008) and Ray Chen (2002). See history in the making with these performances from Australia’s next generation of virtuoso musicians.
