Creative Fusions in Roma is a highly participatory, five-day music-making program for practicing musicians aged 10 to 100 years with any level of vocal or instrumental experience.
If you missed the April workshop don’t worry – join us on May 20 and 21 and be part of a fantastic live community concert event at the Roma Cultural Centre on June 16.
Dr Garcia takes you through what to expect at Creative Fusions in Roma, or check out what happened in April!
“I had an awesome time! Meeting new people and connecting to them through the language of music is amazing!” Previous attendee
Participants will immerse themselves in five days of hands-on music-making – three days in April and two days in May – where they will learn how to improvise in groups, and how to create new sounds and songs.
Workshop Participants will learn about other cultures and styles as they participate in an inclusive process that ultimately culminates in a free community concert that will take place in the Roma Cultural Centre on Friday, 16 June.
Featuring the Workshop Participants and Teaching Artists performing together on stage as they showcase original compositions developed throughout the 5-day learning journey, this free Community Event also features a free public screening of the London Symphony Orchestra with Sir Simon Rattle conducting Mahler’s mighty Symphony No. 7 performed at QPAC on 29 April as part of their Australian Tour.
What will Workshop Participants achieve?
Please note: Participants can attend the workshop in May without having attended the workshop in April. Please contact Anne-Louise Underwood at anne-louise.underwood@qpac.com.au or phone (07) 3842 9182 for more information and to register.
