The sensational British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor is one of the world’s most sought after young pianists. His electrifying performances, exquisite technique and tonal colour has critics calling him ‘a skill and talent not heard since Evgeny Kissin’s teenage debut in Russia’. His sold-out BBC Proms concert dazzled audience and critics alike, with reviews lauding his virtuosity and innate musicality.

Benjamin Grosvenor first came to prominence as the outstanding winner of the keyboard final of the 2004 BBC Young Musician Competition at the age of 11. He made his New York debut in Carnegie Hall at13. In 2012, he was awarded two Gramophone Awards, the youngest ever double award winner. He is the youngest British musician to be signed by Decca Classics.

The Times called Grosvenor ‘A romantic pianist, almost from another age’. His tone and phrasing, rhythmic control and bell-like sound has been compared to the golden-age pianists Cortot and Moiseiwitsch. In 2016 the New York Philharmonic awarded him the inaugural Ackman Classical Piano Prize with performances with the orchestra and its chamber ensembles.

Benjamin Grosvenor’s concert is presented in partnership with Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
