Set in 1950's New York and inspired by Shakespeare’s tragic love story Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story is a tale of two star-crossed lovers caught between warring street gangs the ‘American’ Jets and ‘Puerto Rican’ Sharks. Written by the dream creative team of Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Laurens and Stephen Sondheim, West Side Story’s legendary score blends jazz, latin and classical inspiration to create classic musical theatre numbers Tonight, Something’s Coming, I Feel Pretty and America.
Undoubtedly one of the greatest dance musicals ever written, West Side Story shows that the knife of passion can cut deep.
