In 2019, Ensemble Q, supported by Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, is holding the first Queensland International Chamber Music Competition. Entry is open to a wide variety of ensembles with a maximum age of 35, and is designed to give incredible opportunities to talented young and emerging artists.
A panel of esteemed musicians from across the country have been selected to adjudicate the competition, and prizes will be offered in a variety of categories.The final round takes place in the exquisite Conservatorium Theatre, which is widely hailed as one of Australia's best chamber music halls. The judges for the final round will be the esteemed violinist Natsuko Yoshimoto, Professor Stephen Emmerson, and Queensland Symphony Orchestra principal flute, Alison Mitchell. The standard is extremely high, so they will definitely have some big decisions to make!
