Australian classical pianist Alex Raineri has been described by Limelight Magazine as “a soloist of superb virtuosic skill and musicality”. His busy international career as a recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician includes tours in America, South-East Asia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany and Austria. Alex Raineri is the Artistic Director of the annual Brisbane Music Festival. He is also the pianist with the Southern Cross Soloists and other notable chamber partnerships including Teddy Tahu Rhodes and Brett Dean. He performs with major Australian Orchestras.
This magnificent program has an All Chopin first half beginning with his glorious Preludes. Fink said “If tears could be heard, they would sound like these preludes.” The graceful beautiful Berceuse is followed by two Nocturnes including the exquisite Op 27 No 2 and the grand Scherzo No 3. The second half is a celebration of Wagner and his magnificent operatic transcriptions including the Prelude to Tristan and Isolde, Wagner/Liszt Isolde’s Liebestod and the Overture to Tannhauser.
