John Rodgers’ LIFE and MUSIC is a series of three small exclusive live concerts which explore through music, improvisation and spoken discussion the stories, influences, philosophy, and collaborative principles of some of Australia’s premier musicians. Hosted by the prolific and eclectic composer, arranger and improviser John Rodgers, the series will give music aficionados and fans an opportunity to reach deeper into the feelings and ideas which motivate some of Australia’s best and most loved musicians. Throughout the concerts John will both chat and play with his guests
John Rodgers is an award winning musician, composer and creator of shows. His work has spanned classical, jazz, pop, world, experimental and improvisational music. He has worked with artists as diverse as Geoffrey Rush and Kate Blanchet (theatre and film), Stephen Page and Natalie Weir (dance), Dan Sultan, Richard Tognetti, Paul Kelly, Chrissie Amphlett, Paul Grabowsky and Archie Roach (music) among many others. He has composed music or developed shows for most major festivals and companies in Australia as well as the Vienna Festival, Bogota Theatre Festival, Mumbai Jazz Festival, Heads Up Festival (London), Radio Bremen and the London Sinfonietta.
