Since opening at the Old Vic in London, Girl From The North Country has taken the theatrical world by storm, selling out seasons in the West End, Toronto and Broadway, and is now one of the most critically acclaimed multi award-winning productions of the 21st Century.

The Courier Mail declares Girl From The North Country as “an extraordinary, unexpected treat” and “it’s wonderful to have it here for Brisbane Festival”.

A hauntingly beautiful story of American life in 1934 Minnesota, where a group of wanderers cross paths at a guesthouse. Standing at a turning point in their lives, they realise nothing is what it seems, but as they search for a future, and hide from the past, they find themselves facing unspoken truths about the present.

Featuring the songs of Bob Dylan reimagined like you’ve never heard them before, Girl From The North Country stars stage and screen icon Lisa McCunePeter Kowitz (Janet King) and Helpmann Award winners Helen DallimorePeter Carroll and Greg Stone.

Written and directed by multi award-winner Conor McPherson (The Weir, The Seafarer), Girl From The North Country opens at QPAC this September. Experience this modern masterpiece during its strictly limited season as it captures the hope and heartbreak as written by Dylan himself, “May your heart always be joyful. May your song always be sung.”

Presented by GWB Entertainment, Damien Hewitt, Brisbane Festival, Queensland Performing Arts Centre and Trafalgar Entertainment Group by arrangement with Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment in association with Sydney Festival, State Theatre Company South Australia, Auckland Live, Venues Wellington and Canberra Theatre Centre.
