Internationally acclaimed pianist Pascal Rogé’s name is synonymous with the finest playing of French repertory in the world today. His playing is replete with impressionist illumination, delicate phrasing, elegance and beauty.
Pascal Rogé will be joined by his wife Ami, together they form a formidable duo – ‘one piano is divine, two is a musical feast’. Pascal performs works by Fauré, Chopin and Debussy including The Sunken Cathedral, a striking work bathed in mystery echoing the sound of ancient bells and priests chanting. They will perform Schubert’s hauntingly beautiful Fantasie in F minor as well as two-piano works by Poulenc, Dukas’s cheeky The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Ravel’s glorious La Valse.FAURÉ - Nocturne in E flat minor, Op. 33 No. 1CHOPIN - Nocturne in C minor, Op. posthCHOPIN - Prelude in D flat Major, Op. 28 No. 15DEBUSSY - The girl with the Flaxen Hair The Sunken Cathedral MinstrelsSCHUBERT - Fantasie in F minor D 940 (four hands)POULENC - Elegié The Embarkation for CytheraDUKAS - The Sourcerer’s ApprenticeRAVEL - La Valse
