Guests
 Carol Burns - reader

Described by The Times Literary Supplement as ‘one of the most powerful and innovative writers in English today’, Janette Turner Hospital’s work is not as well known in her home state as it deserves to be.  Now published in twelve languages in more than twenty countries, Turner Hospital is particularly admired for her consummate literary skills, evocative use of language and lyrical and sophisticated storytelling. Her works are frequently compared to pieces of music and described as ‘symphonic’ in their scope.

Southern Cross Soloists pay tribute to this remarkable writer with a program including new works by four outstanding young composers inspired by her writings. The extracts from her novels and short stories will be read by Carol Burns.

Music by Kat McGuffee, Lisa Cheney, Liam Flannady and Joe Twist
