Concerto Copenhagen is an orchestra consisting of eleven musicians from vastly different backgrounds who all share one common goal – to make energetic, vibrant re-creations of the finest period music. As its director, Lars-Ulrik Mortensen puts it, “we play music of long ago in order not to create a museum, but to create the exact opposite…a very contemporary, here-and-now experience.”

Joined by world-renowned Australian recorder virtuoso Genevieve Lacey, the orchestra performs a diverse mix of Baroque concertos and instrumental works, known and unknown, and music chosen for its intimacy, nuance and flexibility. Masterpieces by JS Bach and Vivaldi are complemented by an exploration of their lesser-known contemporary Telemann.
