The Fourth Concert is a serious affair with two impressive works both composed towards the end of their respective composer’s lives. Brahms C minor Piano Trio (1887), his last , is among his most concentrated and imposing works. This is followed by the remarkable trio by the Soviet composer Alfred Schnittke (1934 – 1998).
