Overview

Guest Artist:    Sara Macliver, Soprano

Radiating beauty and integrity, soprano Sara Macliver sings Handel’s sparkling Silete Venti and sublime songs by Grieg. Baroque composer, Valentini was sometimes referred to as ‘the little ragamuffin’. Our performance of his Concerto Grosso will be an Australian premiere, and Brisbane’s Robert Davidson will compose a work based on one of Valentini’s themes – a world premiere! Finally, Camerata goes virtuoso in Béla Bartók’s witty and thrilling Divertimento for strings.

Giuseppe Valentini Concerto Grosso for Four Violins in G Major, Op.7 No.7.
Robert Davidson Fantasia on a Theme of the Little Ragamuffin (world premiere).
George Frideric Handel Motet Silete Venti, HWV242 in B-fl at Major.
